As a mother of 2 young children, hearing the diagnosis of cancer was even more difficult. I had to think first about my 2 (at that time) amazing children, and what this would mean for their lives; after that I had to worry myself for Matt, my husband and partner of many years; then somewhere after the shock wore off temporarily, I got to thinking about what this journey would mean. Looking back now, 14 years later, it has never been easy, but I feel blessed to have had the incredible support of my family, friends, church, and community that have helped me every day since. The final blessing has been to be able to support other survivors through their journey via Tricia’s Hope, so thank you to everyone who has helped ALL of us survivors with your care, kindness, and support – it’s truly appreciated!
