Stacy Graber
Board Member, Survivor
Stacy Graber teaches Grade 3 at St. Richard’s Episcopal School, an independent day school in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. She began teaching over 20 years ago, with 18 of those years spent in this independent school setting. Stacy volunteers her time to improve the overall school community. She created and oversees the Community by Design committee, which supports teaching staff and builds a positive school culture. Additionally, she serves on the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, which centers its work on evaluating current practices and creating policy and structures to build increased belonging for all the diverse members of her school community. Stacy also enriches students’ learning outside of the classroom through teaching cooking classes after-school and during summer break. She also serves as a Faculty Representative for lower division and reports concerns and ideas for new initiatives with school administration.
“My goal in joining the non-profit board of directors for Tricia’s Hope was not only to support one of my closest and dearest friends, but also to help steer the organization towards a sustainable future. Tricia and I met as undergraduate students at Purdue University in 1994, and my life hasn’t been the same since. We became fast friends at Purdue, and I had a feeling that this would be a friendship that would last a lifetime. Several years after our graduation, while a young wife and mother, Tricia was diagnosed with breast cancer. That devastating phone call changed her life forever; but once she recovered, it led her in a direction that focused on giving back. Tricia has always been a champion of courage and inspiration, and she uses her strength to help others who have been diagnosed with cancer, including me. Tricia’s Hope has expanded and grown into an organization that provides not only monetary support, but emotional support as well. I am proud and honored to be a member of the board of Tricia’s Hope.
